   Colorado Springs Critical Mass's Blurbs
About me:
..>

"Critical Mass is an event held typically on the last Friday of every month in cities around the world, where bicyclists, skateboarders, roller bladers, roller skaters and other self-propelled people take to the streets en masse. Critical Mass has no leaders, and no goals other than to meet once every month and enjoy the security and companionship of riding, rolling and travelling through the city together. The one worldwide slogan, chanted by riders in probably all cities where the ride take place is: "We aren't blocking traffic; we are traffic." Critics have claimed that this is a deliberate attempt to obstruct traffic and cause a disruption of normal city functions, asserting that Critical Mass refuses to obey the vehicular traffic laws that apply to cyclists the same as they do to drivers of other vehicles. Some Critical Mass fans defend the lawlessness of cyclists based on their belief that typical laws governing bicycle road users are unfair and different from those governing pedestrians and motorists, and that traffic law heavily favours motor vehicle use in many cities. However, cyclists are typically treated by the law similarly to drivers of other low-power and/or slow-moving vehicles, though many cyclists and motorists, and sometimes even those in law-enforcement, are often unaware of cyclist roadway rights."

Colorado Springs Critical Mass meets in front of Wooglin's Deli (823 N. Tejon, near the intersection of Tejon and Cache Le Poudre on the east side of the street) on the last Friday of each month at 5pm. We ride usually by 5:30pm. The next ride will be Friday, June 30th.

If you have a mountain, road, fixed/track, bmx bike, or trike, unicycle, or frankenbike - you are more than welcome to ride - the mass would be happy to have you!

If you have any more questions, just send me a message!

Hello CSCM!! How is everything? I am really wanting to start a CM in durango colorado which is where i live now but the locals are a little concerned because the last time there was one, they were very anti-car and would be rude to drivers. Do you have any suggestions how I could go about getting the message out to this new crew of bikers that we are here to be a posative force in the community and though we may not agree with the large SUVs that hog up the lanes and taunt us, we must fight ignorance with posativity. Any words?

i had a nice time ridin with yall. is the cabaret law still in effect in new york city? i remember it was illegal for people to dance in a bar unless it had a license! so dancing was actually a form of rebellion there, Blackkat Crew were some anarchists that really threw down parties in the park. okay bye.

Our Critical Mass was rained on by fifty to four hundred and ten dollar tickets. We shall make our court dates hassles that they won't want to see repeated ever again, and then we'll be happy, the sun will shine, and no motorist will ever run over anyone's bike again.

The end.
